Meet Cambridge Imprint. Textile artist Jane Powell, ceramicist Ali Murphy and painter Claerwen James describe themselves as modern day patternmakers. They draw, paint, block and screenprint lively designs onto all sorts of household and stationery objects, such as this charming snow goose greetings card.
Inspired by the joyful, if slightly earnest, aesthetic of the 19th Century Arts and Crafts movement as well as the superb art collection at Kettles Yard in Cambridge, the trio’s distinctive contemporary range combines simple pared down shapes with a deliberate hand-crafted feel. Imagine red-and-white American quilts meet blue English spongeware and you’ll get the picture. Visit www.cambridgeimprint.co.uk
